A specialist building supplies company came to Codeway to increase picking capacity and accuracy. Its web channels were growing fast and had outstripped their trade counters.
Trade customers collecting supplies soon spot discrepancies and shortages. By contrast web customers uncover mistakes after delivery and these are expensive to rectify.
The company uses Intact IQ software to process orders. This was printing out picking and packing lists on paper.
The Solution
Intact IQ is able to send picking and packing instructions to for each order to a file. Codeway provided Codetrack software configured to import these files. Codetrack schedules the orders for picking according to the type of despatch: counter, company vehicle, 3PL carrier.
Operators scan location and items with Honeywell Dolphin 6500 rugged WiFi terminals to confirm each pick. They pack the goods for despatch using the Dolphins to record the contents of each package or container. Codeway implemented an autolabelling function for the despatch labels.
Codetrack checks all the items on each order have been picked and that all packages for the order have been despatched. The software records any discrepancies in order fulfilment files for Intact IQ to process.
Results
- Wrong deliveries reduced from many to almost none.
