Problem

Distribution was an acute issue for a manufacturer of products for customised for retailers and corporate event organisers. Thousands of products were stored on pallets in warehouses for thousands of customers.

Solution

A unique barcode on each pallet was the answer. The company allocated orders to pallets with scheduled dates. This allowed them to pull pallets and packages for despatch by pallet number and location on a daily basis. They check consignments by scanning the barcodes on pallets and packages from split pallets.

Problem Products ordered and made in advance have to be retrieved later for despatch.

Solution Put a unique barcode number on every pallet and allocate orders with scheduled despatch dates to those numbers. Retrieve pallets with products for despatch on the due date.
